Chris Delecki, DDS - Dental Program Director

Chris Delecki, DDS
Dental Program Director

Chris Delecki is always trying to put a smile on his patients’ faces.

The Flint, Michigan, native not only strives to provide excellent dental care to his patients, but keep his patients in stitches with his sense of humor.

“One day I would like to try stand-up comedy,” he remarks.

Chris was only in his second year of college at the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor when he applied to the university’s School of Dentistry. He was quickly accepted and finally graduated with his first degree – his DDS – in 1977.

He spent more than 20 years as a commissioned officer in the United States Public Health Service, working as a dentist and dental administrator on Indian reservations throughout the country.

During his career in the Public Health Service, through which he completed his residency, Chris also attended business school at City University in Bellevue as well as graduate school at the University of Michigan’s School of Public Health.

He retired from the Public Health Service and joined Odessa Brown in 1998, continuing his commitment to help patients with limited access to dental care.

Not only does Chris love working with the patients at OBCC, he admires the staff that shares his same enthusiasm for caring for people.

In his spare time, Chris enjoys gardening around his house with his wife of over 30 years, Bonnie.
They have two children, Zac and Lindsay, and two grandchildren, Caleb and Rebecca.

“There are very few opportunities for low-income families to get quality dental care in our community,” he says. “We are the safety net for the safety net – the one place where kids and families can turn for dental care and know that they won’t be turned away. We don’t ever want parents to stay away because they can’t afford care.”
