Crystal Lyons
Supervisor of Community Programs

Crystal tries to greet every single person who walks through the doors of Odessa Brown Children’s Clinic, especially each child.

In doing this, Crystal lives one lesson her parents instilled in her: work hard, do your best and try to be that person others can depend on.

Crystal started as the Managed Care Coordinator at Odessa Brown in 1996, but her career path has covered many areas since her first job working at Jack in the Box as a teenager.

After living and working in Anchorage, Alaska, for 10 years, Crystal returned to Seattle to pursue a career in a place where she could grow and learn. She found that at the OBCC, where, she says, one day is never like another and you never know what may happen.

She received her Bachelor’s degree in business administration from City University in Seattle in 2001 while still working fulltime at OBCC.

Crystal and her husband, Carl, have three children – Brandon, Darnell and Nicole – as well as two grandchildren, Javion and Josiah.

When she’s not making kids laugh at Odessa Brown, Crystal enjoys knitting and bowling, and she is currently enjoying golf lessons.

With her special talent for making babies and small children laugh, Crystal says she hopes to give them something positive to associate with the clinic rather than the normal feeling of discomfort at the doctor’s or dentist’s office.
