Michele Acker, ARNP
Pediatric Nurse Practitioner
Beginning with her desire to become a nurse at the ripe age of five, Michele Acker has dedicated her life to caring for children and teenagers as a pediatric nurse practitioner.
The Tacoma native’s father, a doctor, exposed her to the medical field; her very first job was working as a nurse’s assistant in his office.
Michele received her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in nursing from the University of Washington.
Before joining the Odessa Brown staff at the Garfield Teen Health Center in September 2006, Michele worked at the Nathan Hale Teen Health Center and at the Children’s Virology/Infectious Disease Clinic at Harborview.
Michele and her husband, Randy, have a grown daughter, Heather, and a grandson named Aidan. They also have two cats, Mel and George. In her spare time, she enjoys gardening, walking, knitting, reading and making jewelry.

|
| Michele says she feels privileged to work with a “great staff” and to interact with the patients she sees daily at OBCC. |
